About 3 years ago, Jerry saw me chop a VW Bug at a Rod Show
at the Champaign County Fair. He told his son Sean, who brought in
his previously customized 1949 Ford 2-door for a roof chop.
I dropped the top and sliced the front pillars.
I braced the roof, sliced the top and began hammer welding
to create a smooth new back contour:
One of the problems I always see on chopped Fords of this era
is a flat area behind the rear pillar. I am working to keep the
natural curve and flow that are part of the original lines.
