The inner Sanctum -- finished dash bracing showing the how the
1940 Desoto was grafted to the newer Thunderbird chassis.
Woodsy fabricated a new rocker panel.

Welded up trim holes along quarter panel:

Woodsy ground smooth the cowl panel trim hole welds, and started
grinding the smooth the trim hole welds.

Finish grinding to smooth welds prior to sanding:

Inner trunk panel [skin removed], to check fit with new drip rail panel.
Trunk panel will be modified to fit drip rail before reinstalling skin,
and making lower lip and "rain gutter":
